Will the mod be dead by January, 2014? - buttfumble - 9-30-13 10:16 AM

Having had discussed the state of affairs with a few people, it seems as though this mod will have a rough time surviving after the CSFL2 championship game. Not only will our great(but sometimes communist) leader Peyton be retiring, but many of the mods other great players have already left(banned). Others have said they are also retiring soon. blood, `anderson, Funtastik, kc21, Grogglez, opeezy, paradox, and arod are all players who have either been banned or have been linked to retirement speculation. These are all players who have drove me to get better at the mod so I could one day get on their level. With the absence of these players and the absence of Peyton running things, I feel the mod will either die or become considerably less fun. The problem isn't solely that people are leaving the mod, its also the lack of rookies connecting to the PUG server and trying to improve. Nobody seems willing to step up and try to get better or take the game serious.
The point of this post is to see what you guys think will happen and to also maybe convince some of the players considering retirement to give it another thought to try and keep the mod from dying. Peyton, without you running the show I feel things will get worse as far as trolling and the successful running of tournaments. I'd hope that even if you aren't around a lot that you can at least remain somewhat active to try and prevent this from happening.
I love you all. Let's pug.

See things go in cycles. No one ever really retires and you shouldn't let one hijacked tournament cast speculation on what has and can be done. Now is the time to organize or schedule things besides waiting for april Tourny to start. Also all the players mentioned have left before and came back. Some more then once already.

I am also wondering the same....we all are, but that being said, I do agree with yeti. Nobody ever retires, Whookid stayed active and kept improving on the mod until he knew that it was safe for peyton to take over, and as long as we plan ahead tourneys and keep the competitive aspect of csafm going. I think we will be fine, But also as peyton said in his retirement post. The pub is what we need to stay alive, so if you see no one in there in the afternoons. I encourage you and everyone else to try to keep peoples interest in the mod, and get people to come in and play in the pub.
