RE: 1 of 11 Football - blood - 3-12-15 9:54 PM

I know there has been discussions before about afm becoming stand alone.. there are many ideas that can improve afm moving forward but I feel as well as many that what makes afm so unique and fun is it's physics. (being able to strafe/bhop ect..)

Everyone that is hating on the lineman position defensive or offensive are not looking at the entire picture.. It wouldn't be just some one running into another person trying to bump them.. If there was a system that was made that required actual skill and the ability to outplay the opposing lineman then I feel it would be fun.. having the best Lineman would be as important as having the best WR As any football fan knows games are mostly won in the trenches..

I also feel 11 on 11 is way to many

Should be 1 qb 1 rb 2 wr 4 lineman
1 S 1 Lb 2 CB 4 lineman
I like the idea of lineman but having 5 seems overkill
8v8 would be a good number and with a default package as mentioned before and if it works then there can be different packages maybe adding a TE replacing the RB

but as said before whookid has created a very good base idea with the mod.. some things should and can be made more complex but some things shouldn't be changed. Or it would hurt the game in my opinion.

Thanks for the comments, guys.

In response to Blood, the concept of gameplay and mechanics have been thought about and refined in my head over the past 8 years. There is simply so many details about the game that it is hard to cover, so I do apologize for that.

One foundational approach that I have is customization and control. Everything you said regarding 8v8 is possible, since the game can be played with any combination of players from single player to full 22 players. Any unassigned position is simply controlled by AI.

With that being said, I never want to take options away from people. Personally, I love full 11 on 11, dialing up custom formations and plays, and getting a true football simulation experience. However, if people don't want that, they can never touch that part of the game and use traditional presets.

I also understand the fun aspect of bunny hopping, but this game takes on a realistic, simulation approach. Honestly, when initial multiplayer networking tests were done about a year ago, people had the most fun with a glitch where you could jump on another player and continue jumping, making both you and the player below you continue moving upwards to the sky.
