FPK Craig: Acting Mediator for CSFL2 and AFM - craig - 6-30-13 12:21 PM

Forum Post King speaking up.

As I chicken peck this keyboard, I attempt to point out the issues right now with this community but, more precisely, the CSFL II league.

Most notably, there is a lack of passion right now but this is due to the amount of trolling within this tight-knit, small yet highly-skilled gaming community.

The type of trolling that is occurring now in AFM mostly occurs out of immaturity and internet ego. Those that "need to get the last word" or perform a vendetta during live pugs are the worst types of trolls.

Common signs of AFM's Internet Egos:
1. "If you try, you're a nerd."
2. "If you play more than me, you're a nerd."
3. "Stats are like the Bible, if it is written then there's no questioning it. I am better."
4. "I was insulted on the internet. I will now do everything in my power to win this argument until one of us is gagged or maybe I'll get someone from my clique to have my back."
5. "While you're playing cs football, in real life I was [insert BeaN-like remark here... generally if you refer to a girlfriend you have it'll bump up your internet status even more]"

Just think of your actions when something doesn't go your way. Are you going to throw a fit? "I gotta go" > Console > Exit? Suck it up and play the game.

If you are getting trolled, learn how to handle it. When trolls see that you take shit personally, they don't stop. You're honestly welcoming a barrage of attacks. If trolls know you have a weak spot (sexual references to a daughter you have, something about miscarriages, etc) then it's obvious people on the internet are getting inside your head.

I am obviously an advocate to get this running successfully as originally intended. Right now, I envision four CSFL II categories QBs, FREE AGENTS, OPT-OUT, and CANCER.

QBs
This needs to be determined immediately. A consensus of the participating players need to decide whether Connery is in or out. Prior to me breaking my arm, I heard many people say: "I'm not playing if Connery is QBing." and I immediately thought that people were being unreasonable. Going in with an open mind and knowing Connery, I played with him for a few pugs and didn't have any issues. Without getting into the story, eventually I officially left my first pug ever and I'll willingly accept any consequences coming my way. Simply stated, I join those that do NOT want Connery to QB.

FREE AGENTS
After knowing the QBs, you still want CSFL II to take place and would like to be considered during the DRAFT process.

OPT-OUT
Category where you wish to not participate in CSFL II.

CANCER
The category of those free agents that do not participate in CSFL II based PURELY on the outcome of the draft. "teams are stacked." "omg chrispy picked me." A CANCER's persona would have an attitude similar to "I'll contribute to the community by being an outspoken apathetic non-conformist. This will help my online status while reeling in the vast amount of e-vag surrounding me."

We need to figure out where each person is once the QB situation is figured out.

Lastly, community-related, people are claiming the mod is dying. If you're buying into this then you're making it become true. The status of the league right now is just an obstacle. Peyton can't single handedly control this community. He's been trying and even had some assistance with the inactive co-commissioner Shanks but the amount of trolling is making this difficult. "If you ban me, I will be one less person to pug with." The players, along with Peyton's resources, govern this community and as such we need to accept responsibility for our actions taken. Quit getting butt hurt if you got a slap on the wrist for being a complete douchebag for a few hours.

If stats don't show who's better than why the fuck do people record stats... Clearly stats matter. There is a difference between a qb who averages 100 qb rating a game and one with 75. I get what your saying but stats still truely matter.

The bean point made me die not gonna lie.

This QB problem was in the process of being resolved with the showdown but now when I look at it I don't think that its the right way because of how "trolly" this mod is becoming...

I am also on the opposition of Connery quarterbacking in the CSFL II. I tried to get used to him, but I would never play for his team in a tournament. He is pretty bad and a cause of the trolling drama going on currently.

If the "showdown" never took place, those people who originally did not want to play for Connery would not have become the bigger trolls they are today, and IMO the PUG server would still be up.

Connery belongs in the cancer category, and we should go back to the original six quarterbacks. I also agree with Craig's idea of the four categories, get the core group of people that want to be involved in the league, and get rid of those who do not want to play / who are trolls and cancers.

ORIGINAL SIX! Thanx grog Smile I just don't think I would be able to commit the time to make anyone(esp my 1st pick) happy enough. I do not know if I am considered a troll or not or just a shit talker? I'm not happy with chispy being a qb(inexperience)yet I understand he will be practicing more then I am most likely willing to(first league was more of a schedule conflict sense I worked 4p-3a then). Also after my personal experience with problem players I would play for him to the best of my capabilities but most likely with a bit of lip.

Another idea would be to allow recognized qb's to challenge the current list for their spots in the meantime until the league is started as a way to draw up more interest but I do think an August start is a bit early unless there is a possibility of having CSFL3 sometime within the 2013NFL season.

This mod is dying but its not just the mod it's CS in general. Players move on to other mods/games/lifestyles. It's just the way it is. I do think there should be more people trying to coach people in the pug(I try yet we all know my style in the PUB. I'm raw but my am is for hilarity not hubris.)Also to those who are just complaining about the mod dying. Find out what you could do to contribute instead of just taking things for granted.

If this don't make any sense...I need sleep lol.

Oh wait craig didn't try to forum troll grogglez because he said he wouldn't play for a certain qb....?Funny how things work huh ball hugger.

- craig - 7-23-13 5:49 PM

The difference is that Connery isn't an established QB for the league, whereas WKB is.

I know you're about a month late to the forums but, at the time of this post, Peyton went on his hiatus along with the pug server. Shanks was no where to be found. CSFL II is left up in the air with 6 QBs, one of which was unslotted due to the Connery vs. Chrispy showdown being 5-5.

I felt Connery was a complete cancer to the mod - undeserving of that QB slot. I made that post to ask the community to see what everyone thought while trying to keep things rolling for CSFL II.

Ball hugger...?
1. Is that like a tree hugger? Grogglez in a pig den: "Save the pigs!"
2. Grogglez wearing emo skin-tight pants... FFS that image...

You can make up all the bs excuses and try to brush shit off all you want and it still does not change the fact that you were not playing both sides equally.
