Peyton,

In an earlier thread you mentioned that you and Grogglez were the best connection in AFM history.

Well, today was an extremely slow and boring day at work (most of the boses were traveling) and I thought what the TOURNAMENT numbers would say when comparing you and grogglez with me and blood.

NOTE - THIS WAS NOT DONE TO DEFINE WHO'S BETTER INDIVIDUALLY OR ANYTHING ELSE, JUST WHICH "CONNECTION" WAS MORE POTENT

ANOTHER NOTE - GRANTED COMPETITION LEVEL HAS CHANGED OVER TIME BUT THAT CANNOT BE USED AS AN EXCUSE EVER...WE DON'T CHOOSE THE COMPETITION LEVEL..WE PLAY WITH WHO SIGNS UP AND HOW GOOD THEY ARE AT THE TIME

ONLY TOURNAMENT GAMES WHERE GROGGLEZ PLAYED FOR MANNING AND BLOOD PLAYED FOR ANDERSON WERE USED IN THIS COMPARISON

Based on total averages, they are very close. I don't think you can call either connection better based on that. You really can't compare total numbers because you and grogglez have 3 more tournament games played than I do with blood.

Now, if we want to point out the best connection in a SINGLE tournament, then hands down it's me and blood in Official 3. You and grogglez's best tournament was the Thanksgiving 2012. The only reason Grogglez's stats look remotely better than Blood's is due to the fact that Grogglez played in 4 games, compared to Blood's 3. If you project Blood's numbers to 4 games, than he oblitirates Grogglez's numbers. Heck, he had more TD's in 3 games than Grogglez had in 4.

Here's a link to the excel file I made:

First off, save the "bosses traveling" story and don't be ashamed about your love for AFM - we all share the same enthusiasm.

Here's how I see it, both, analytically and statistically for the receiver and quarterback alike.

Analytically - Big Edge to Grogglez and Manning

I agree with all of the points you made about the evolution of the mod and about the unsophisticated defenses you guys played against. Yours and blood's best stats came against a weak schedule whereas the best stats for Grogglez and I came against a very difficult schedule, which included beating your team.

Your strongest argument was that Grogglez played in 1 game more than blood did, yet this statistic is entirely misleading considering the fact that the quarter length in Official III was set to 3:30, which resulted in blood racking up more plays than Grogglez - blood's 417 plays to Grogglez's 403 plays. This means that blood had more time to beat up on a bad man-to-man defense, which resulted in high scoring affairs of 150-43, 88-62, 100-39. So to sum it all up, your point about Grogglez playing 1 game more than blood only makes my argument stronger. Here's why: Grogglez played against tougher defenses and he never had a chance to beat up on a bad opponent because the quarter length and opponent skill did not allow for it. Again, in their statistically best tournament, Grogglez played 1 game more than blood, but blood had accumulated 14 more plays than Grogglez.

Remember, the preceding was analytical.

Statistically - Slight Edge to Grogglez and Manning

I modified your file since you accidentally added 3 extra TDs for blood. Since Official III quarter length was 3:30, the per game player totals are inflated for blood. I added a stat category to weigh blood's stats compared to Grogglez's plays per game.

Edit: Link removed due to wrong stats see later post.

Peyton I am not going to argue with you since that was not the intent of the thread. Making arguments about how the mod was when we played is irrelevant. That's like arguing NBA stats to pre shot clock and pre 3 point line to now. The game and mod have evolved.

But I will point out that back then everyone's skill level was closer to the mean than it is now. Back then there were pretty much no bhoppers and def no play calling. Now there are a few elite players, alot of above average players, and a ton of roaches along with a ton of play calling which makes it easier for the "connection".

Also, blood had 14 TDs in official 3, not sure why you think he had 11.

Lastly, to your comment: "First off, save the "bosses traveling" story and don't be ashamed about your love for AFM - we all share the same enthusiasm" -- I am not ashamed to say I enjoy this mod.

I apparently counted the interception stat instead of the touchdown stat for one of the games, which is my bad.

Stats are meant to be interpreted when they are identical as in this case, which is why "expert analyst" is actually a job title. Don't start out by making a statement about how the mod's evolution is irreverent when it comes to statistics because in each of your responses you argued their relevancy.

You ended your first post with "troll away now" and that's all you've done. Lastly, there's no need for personal insults on here. You do that again and I'll just ban you.

I just want to enter in an important piece of evidence into this very uninteresting argument of who has the bigger penis:
