WhooKid and I email back and forth countless times throughout the year. I'm posting an open suggestion to him so you guys know what we have been talking about the past several months and the amount of work and thought that goes into making a better mod.
The current QB sounds start with "I wanna throw." The QB is the play caller so instead of telling his WRs where he wants to throw the ball, he can tell them where to run or more specifically what type of route to run. This will be GREAT for qbs without mics.
These are the new QB sounds that we should use. Some sounds may not be used.
Run a comeback
Run a slant
Run a post
Run a corner
Run a go
Run a out
Run a in
Run across the field
Run to the left side
Run to the right side
Go deep
Go middle
Stay short
I'm gonna run
This is what I envision.
For a long time now, QBs have been calling plays for their WRs, but they have ended up disappointed due to the results. This idea would simplify the route calling and make it easy on both QBs and WRs.
QBs, with and without mics, will call a route with the sound feature (X button) and then they will type the name of the person that they want running the route, over teamchat. What I would do or encourage others to do is create some sort of play-calling system to avoid the almighty clusterfuck (WRs at the same place on the field). For example, the QB has 10 seconds on the playclock, which gives him more than enough time to call 4 different routes that he wants his WRs to run. The first called route would be for the outside left WR, the second called route would be for the inside left WR, the third route called would be for the inside right WR, and the fourth and final route called would be for the outside right WR.
Overall, this would make the mod much more competitive. If the QBs and WRs are on the same page, every single play, then there will be less bogus interceptions that are the caused by miscues and clusterfucks. This would also shape new players much faster than traditionally because they will learn what an actual route is.
