Not a big fan of plays per rating.

1. Quarterbacks will have to ability to gain a rating if not 2 rating every play on offense. So a wr will never be able to catch a qb.

2. Having a high play per rating with 1500~ plays when there are people with 2500-3500 plays. Sure you a player could say they have a good average but could they maintain that consistency with 2000~ more plays.

3. Also teammates come into play. I'm sure a player like johnny could have a better play per rating if he wasn't playing with 2 other number ones on his team a lot of the time. It's a tournament, people want to play with their friends and have the best chance to win.

Not saying plays per rating is invalid, just I think it would be more respectable if everyone had the same amount of plays and QBs were in their own category.

I think plays-per-rating is a fair assessment of skill. There are obviously factors to keep in mind when comparing players, such as position and play count. The greater the sample size is, then the better the indication of skill. As players compete in more PUGs, they play with and against a greater variation of players which is as close as we can get to "all things being equal."
